All our Courses are led by Professional Artists and Trained Tutors.

 

Glass Fusing

Introduction to creating small pieces, learning techniques of fusing and creating colour from a variety of inclusions: metals, oxides etc.  You will go home with a variety of small designs which can then be made into small window hangings/pictures, or jewellery, or for greetings cards.

Collage'Tree'  

Creating a collaged tree from handmade and waste papers.  You will go home with at least 1 picture.  This will suit anyone new to craftwork, or anyone wanting to try out a new idea.........

 

Collage 'Landscape'

Creating at least one style of Landscape using handmade and waste papers.  A day of experimenting ..... You will go home with at least one finished picture.  This will suit anyone new to craftwork, as well as those with more experience who wish to enjoy a day creating an original piece of artwork.

 

Collage ' Quilt/patchwork'

This will interest those who love the different possibilities of paper, cutting, and arranging patterns inspired by imagined or traditional patchwork designs...... You will go home with one finished piece.

No experience of quilting or craft work  is needed.

 

Weaving

Table-top Loom, weaving course.  This course will introduce you to the art of hand-weaving.  You will take home an original piece of weaving, - a wall hanging, for instance, or a piece to stitch on a cushion cover.  The course is designed for beginners, but the flexibility of this course, is that it may suit those who wish to expand their basic weaving skills.  In the near future Weaving may be offered as a 6 week evening course.  Feel free to enquire at the Gallery 0161-881 4422 or by email creativerecycling@mac.com

Lino-cut Printing 

You will learn how to design and cut your own unique lino print. and print in various colours effectively. You will leave with several prints on paper, ready to frame, and your own reusable bag to carry them home !

Rag-Rug

This Course will provide the opportunity to learn the traditional up-cycling craft of rag-rugging.  You will learn about using the appropriate tools and use a wide range of materials to produce an art piece ready to frame.

Embroidery

You will learn a range of embroidery stitches to create your own sample piece of embroidery ready to frame.  You can choose whether to work on plain material, or on embellish up-cycled vintage fabrics. 

Painting on Silk

Step by step tuition - learn how to design and paint your own work off art on silk.  You will leave with at least one finished piece.

Bookbinding 

You will learn a range of techniques, to create your own unique bound book, finishing off by covering with fabric or leather/suede, and at the end of the day have at least 2 completed books.

 

Drawing Classes

A course of 6 evenings teaching the basic skills of drawing, including help with techniques of shading, life drawing, portraits and perspective.  The course is based on the concept that 'anyone can draw' and through a number of easy exercises this can also be fun !  This course will suit those who wish to have a go for the first time and those that feel a bit  'rusty' ....... (7-9 pm Monday evening)
