Local Artists; KIRSTY K LATHAM
Kirsty has a fascination for black history and revolutionary movements combined with a love of creative sub-cultures. Her research into the lives of these figures -immersing herself in art, music and performances, she recreates something of their soul, and what makes them significant icons. She uses acrylics, watercolours, inks and hand made self designed patterns and fonts, and free-hands layouts.
Kirsty wants to encourage the viewer to delve further than the face as a representation of the subject - learn about the lives of these great people and why they have such an important place in modern social history.
