Open -Mic - an evening or song, poetry and story-telling ............

Anyone welcome to try out new material to a small friendly audience,  The last two Open-Mic nights have been really enjoyable - and each evening different from each other, because it was a different audience, and many new acts.

The Event is held in the Shed at the back of our Gallery.  Its a lovely creative space, and Claire Mooney who hosts the evening has often performed in this space.  Access is through the back gate into the sculpture garden.  Up to 40 people can be accommodated.

Players, singers, poets and story-tellers, all welcome for a short performance (5 mins - 10 max), drinks are available for a small donation to our charity for the homeless.  No entrance fee for anyone.  No need to book, just come along on the night.......

We hope to make this a regular FIRST MONDAY IN THE MONTH if demand continues.

Restoration and Rebirth

100 year old Loom - now working again......

100 year old Loom - now working again......

A variety of quality woven products........

A variety of quality woven products........

Artist/Owners Fiona Norton and Glennis Andrews (collar)  are proud to present their recent collaboration with Laura Tuffley, now Artist in Residence at their Gallery, who has for some months been renovating the Gallery's 100 year old Loom.

Laura has now created a collection of contemporary woven products on this Loom, and all items are for Sale.  Accompanying the Exhibition of her new work, is a small display of the how the Loom was put to work in the early 1900's in Switzerland and entered the popular Straw `industry of its time.   Since then it has travelled to the Isle of Man, and arrived in Manchester 20 years ago.  It has had its own beauty as a museum piece, but now it is once again a working loom.  A re-birth !

The Exhibition will interest those with an interest in the history of mills and looms, but in particular those who enjoy quality woven products - scarves, cushions, and will hangings and much more.   Everyone is welcome to enjoy.
